Terms of Service
Effective July 25, 2026 · SFTPro is made by Ubani LTD.
These terms cover your use of SFTPro, a macOS application for connecting to SFTP servers (“the app”). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to them.
The app
SFTPro is a client — it connects to servers you choose and control. We don’t operate any server the app depends on, and the app doesn’t work without you providing your own server details.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use SFTPro on Macs you own or control, subject to these terms. You may not redistribute, resell, reverse-engineer, or repackage the app.
Purchases
SFTPro is free to download. Browsing, connecting to servers, and previewing files works without payment. A one-time, non-subscription purchase (currently $29) unlocks editing, saving, uploading, and file operations (rename, delete, move, permissions, new folders).
- Purchases through the Mac App Store are billed and refunded under Apple’s Media Services Terms. Refund requests go through Apple, not us.
- Purchases made directly through sftpro.dev are processed by our merchant of record. Refund requests within 14 days of purchase, made in good faith, go to support@sftpro.dev.
Future major versions (v2 and beyond) may be sold as separate paid upgrades, at a discount for existing owners. Purchasing SFTPro today entitles you to that version and its free updates — not to future major versions, which we’ll price and announce separately.
Your responsibility
You’re responsible for:
- The servers you connect to, and having permission to access them.
- Keeping your Mac and Keychain secure — SFTPro stores your connection secrets there, and their protection depends on your device’s own security (a password/passcode, FileVault, etc.).
- Anything you do with the app, including any data you edit, delete, or upload to a server.
Don’t use SFTPro to access systems you don’t have authorization to access. That’s between you and whoever owns those systems — we’re not a party to it and accept no responsibility for it.
No warranty
SFTPro is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We don’t guarantee it’s free of bugs, that it will work with every SFTP server configuration, or that it’s fit for any particular purpose. You use it at your own risk — particularly around anything that writes to or deletes from a remote server, which is inherently capable of data loss if misused (by you, by us, or by a flaky connection).
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app — including lost data, lost files on a remote server, or lost profits — even if we’ve been advised of the possibility. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Termination
We may stop supporting or updating the app at any time. Your license to use versions you’ve already downloaded doesn’t expire because of that — this is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and we intend to honor that even if the project is discontinued.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes or on sftpro.dev. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Ubani LTD is incorporated, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
