Privacy Policy
Effective July 25, 2026 · SFTPro is made by Ubani LTD.
SFTPro is a macOS app for connecting to SFTP servers. This policy describes what happens to your data when you use it. The short version: we don’t collect any.
What we don’t do
- We don’t collect analytics, usage data, or crash reports.
- We don’t track you across sessions, devices, or apps.
- We don’t require an account to use SFTPro.
- We don’t have a server. SFTPro doesn’t phone home to us at all.
- We don’t sell, rent, or share data, because we don’t have any to share.
What SFTPro stores, and where
SFTPro needs to remember a few things to be useful. All of it stays on your Mac, under your control:
- Server details (label, host, port, username, tag, last-used path) are stored locally on your device.
- Passwords, SSH key passphrases, and private keys are stored in the macOS Keychain — the same secure storage every other Mac app uses for secrets. They’re encrypted at rest by macOS and never written to disk in plain text.
- Files you download or edit are handled the same way any Mac app handles files you open — they go where you tell them to go, or into a temporary location that’s cleaned up afterward.
None of this is sent to us, because there’s no “us” on the other end of the app. The only network connection SFTPro makes is the one you configure, directly to your own SFTP server.
Your SFTP server
When you connect to a server, SFTPro talks to that server directly over SSH/SFTP. Whatever that server’s operator can see about the connection (the fact that you connected, your username, IP address, etc.) is between you and that server — SFTPro doesn’t add anything to it, and we have no visibility into it either way.
Payment information
If you purchase SFTPro through the Mac App Store, Apple processes the transaction and handles your payment details under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We receive an anonymized, aggregated sales report — not your name, email, or card details.
If you purchase directly from sftpro.dev, payment is processed by our merchant of record, who collects what’s needed to process the payment and handle tax obligations, under their own privacy policy. We receive your email (to deliver your license) and transaction confirmation — nothing more.
Support requests
If you email us for support, we obviously receive whatever you send us — your email address and the contents of your message. We use it only to help you, don’t add you to a mailing list without asking, and delete support threads periodically rather than keeping them indefinitely.
Children’s privacy
SFTPro isn’t directed at children and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age — see above.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top and, for any change that meaningfully affects what we do with your data, note it in the app’s release notes. Given that we don’t collect data today, a change here would be unusual — but you’ll hear about it if it happens.

This policy applies to SFTPro for macOS. It does not cover third-party services you connect to — your SFTP server, Apple’s App Store, or our payment processor — each of which has its own privacy practices linked above.
