Color-coded file browser
Extension-aware icons make a directory scannable at a glance, with a monospace breadcrumb you can click at any segment to jump straight there. Shift- or ⌘-click to select several files and download or delete them in one pass.
Git-aware path bar
Browse into a git checkout and the path bar labels it like a repository host — branch and short commit, read straight from git's plumbing over SFTP, so no git binary has to exist on the server. Green on the default branch, blue on any other.
A real text editor, not a text box
Open any file in place with live syntax highlighting. Edit, ⌘↩ to save straight back over SFTP, ⌘R to revert.
A transfer queue you can trust
Upload via drag-and-drop or a picker; every transfer shows progress, and you can cancel or retry without losing your place.
File ops that don't require a terminal
Rename, delete, move, new file, new folder, and edit permissions — with the symbolic form right there, not hex you have to decode.

Trust-on-first-use host verification
The first connection pins the server's key fingerprint. If it ever changes without warning, SFTPro warns you loudly.

Connect however your servers actually authenticate. Ed25519 and RSA keys, encrypted or not — no requirement to type a password every time.

So it treats them that way. Everything stays on your Mac, encrypted by macOS— there’s no cloud to leak it from.
Host keys, pinned
The first connection pins the server's SSH host key. If it ever changes, SFTPro refuses to connect and tells you why — no silent man-in-the-middle.
Secrets in the Keychain
Passwords, passphrases, and private keys live in the macOS Keychain, encrypted by the OS. Never in a plaintext file, never synced to iCloud.
Previews leave nothing behind
Files fetched for preview are purged before the next fetch, on disconnect, on quit, and on launch — so a crash doesn't strand remote data on your disk.
Signed, notarized, offline
Every release is Developer-ID signed and notarized by Apple, and updates are EdDSA-signed. No account, no analytics, no phoning home.

What's free vs. paid?+
Free: browse any number of servers, connect, preview files, download. Paid ($19.43, one-time): edit and save files in place, upload, and use the file operations (rename, delete, move, permissions, new folder).
Does it support SSH keys?+
Yes — Ed25519 and RSA, encrypted or plain. Passwords work too.
Is my password safe?+
Passwords and key passphrases are stored in the macOS Keychain, the same system every other Mac app uses for secrets. They never touch disk in plain text and never leave your machine. The security page has the full detail.
What happens to my purchase when v2 ships?+
v1 updates stay free. A major version with a real feature leap (dual-pane browsing, tabs, more backends) will be a paid upgrade — discounted for existing owners. You keep using v1 for free for as long as you want either way.
